About Me
My name is Amirreza Darzabi, I'm 14 years old and I am a competitive chess player and coach based in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. I was born in Mashhad, Iran, and moved to Canada when I was six years old. I began playing chess at around 3–4 years old, first just moving the pieces for fun, then quickly developing a deep passion for the game.
Today, I hold a 1565 Canadian National Rating (provisional and continuing to rise) and maintain an online rating of 2100, with a peak of 2200 in Bullet on Lichess. I recently competed in the U16 Triple Qualifiers in Markham, where I successfully qualified for the CYCC 2026 (Canadian Youth Chess Championship) taking place in July 2026.
Alongside my own competitive goals, I have a strong interest in teaching and helping others improve. I coach students of all ages and currently work with players ranging from complete beginners to about 1400 rating. My teaching focuses on fundamentals, tactical vision, opening understanding, and long-term improvement habits. I aim to make every lesson engaging, structured, and personalized for each student.
My lesson rates are flexible and can be negotiated for students booking multiple sessions.
